General retail premises, businesses that conduct a defined public activity, a private activity or a private function, or passenger transport services must use the COVID SAfe Check-In or other approved contact tracing system.

Businesses, venues or events with a COVID Safe Plan will have received a unique QR code. This should be printed and displayed in a prominent location at all entrances of the business. See Tips on displaying your QR code (PDF, 60.4 KB).

When people arrive at a business, venue or event, they can check in by scanning the QR code using their smart phone through the mySA GOV app.

All people entering the place must upload their relevant contact details to the approved contact tracing system. This upload is automatic when you use the COVID SAfe Check-In to scan the QR code.

A paper recording log template and an individual check-in form should be made available as a back-up for people who don’t have a smart phone.
