Hospitals, aged care facilities, and residential disability facilities must use the COVID SAfe Check-In or other approved contact tracing system.

COVID SAfe Check-In is not required for all other businesses, including recreational transport, auctions and inspections for sale and rental of properties, public transport, taxis and ride share, educational facilities.

Hospitals, aged care facilities, and disability care facilities a COVID Safe Plan will have received a unique QR code. This should be printed and displayed in a prominent location at all entrances. See Tips on displaying your QR code (PDF, 60.4 KB).

When people arrive at a hospital, aged care facility, or disability facility, they can check in by scanning the QR code using their smart phone through the mySAGOV app.

All people entering the place must upload their relevant contact details to the approved contact tracing system. This upload is automatic when you use the COVID SAfe Check-In to scan the QR code.

A paper recording log template and an individual check-in form should be made available as a back-up for people who don’t have a smart phone.
