There have been 4,616 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 24,553 active cases in South Australia.
Sadly, SA Health can confirm a woman in her 80s and two men in their 80s, who tested positive for COVID-19, have passed away.
There are 229 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including 10 people in ICU. Of those hospitalised, 112 people had received three or more vaccine doses and 117 people are either unvaccinated, partially vaccinated or have an unknown vaccination status.
Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

The latest genome sampling from 1 to 7 May has found 100% of samples taken were BA.2.

Yesterday, 10,299 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 14.7% decrease on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 2,358 PCR tests were positive, while 2,258 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.
