There have been 3,829 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 33,703 active cases in South Australia.

There are 227 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including 26 people in ICU and five requiring a ventilator.

Of those hospitalised, 125 people are fully vaccinated, 31 are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and 71 have an unknown vaccination status.

Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases have been readjusted.

Variants

Regular genome sampling is taken to monitor the levels of Omicron within South Australia. Eighty one percent of samples taken returned an Omicron result. This figure will be updated as results are received, noting results are not reported daily.

COVID testing

Yesterday, 14,873 people received a PCR test in South Australia, a 14% decrease on the previous 24 hours.

Vaccination update

  • 93.4% of eligible South Australians aged 12+ have received their first dose of the vaccine
  • 89.7% have received their second dose
  • 7,118 booster shots given yesterday bring the total booster shots to 345,751.
