There have been 2,327 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 16,448 active cases in South Australia.

There are 211 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including seven people in ICU. Of those hospitalised, 129 people have received three or more vaccine doses, 76 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and six have an unknown vaccination status.

Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

The latest genome sampling has found 83.7% of samples taken were BA.2.

COVID testing

Yesterday 6,915 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is an 24.8% decrease on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 1,286 PCR tests were positive, while 1,041 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.

Vaccination update

  • 95.8% of eligible South Australians aged 12+ have received their first dose of the vaccine
  • 93.9% have received their second dose
  • 72.9% of eligible South Australians have received a booster dose and 68.2% of South Australians aged 16+
