You may be required to show proof of your COVID-19 vaccination status at your workplace or when entering some businesses and venues.

You can show proof of your vaccination with your:

Accessing proof of your COVID-19 vaccination

You can get your immunisation history statement or COVID-19 digital certificate to show proof of your vaccinations using:

  • Medicare online account through myGov
  • Express Plus Medicare mobile app.

If you’re not eligible for Medicare, you can request an Individual Healthcare Identifier (IHI) to get an immunisation summary through myGov.

Printing your COVID-19 digital certificate

You can print your own COVID-19 digital certificate or immunisation history statement to carry as proof of your vaccination status.

You can print a copy by downloading a PDF using your Medicare online account through myGov or the Express Plus Medicare app.

If you can’t access your proof of vaccination online, you can ask your GP to print your immunisation history statement. You can also call the Australian Immunisation Register and ask for your proof to be sent to you. It can take up to 14 days for your statement or certificate to arrive in the post.

Proof of medical exemption

If you can’t get any of the approved COVID-19 vaccines for medical reasons, your doctor will need to update this on the Australian Immunisation Register. This will be recorded on your immunisation history statement and COVID-19 digital certificate.

Adding your COVID-19 digital certificate to mySA GOV

You can also add your COVID-19 digital certificate to the mySA GOV app. This means you can check in with COVID Safe Check-In and automatically show proof of your COVID-19 vaccination from the same app, wherever it’s required.
